CS 30 Basic Chainsaw Techniques

Participants & Pre-Requisites

  1. Should be physically fit and agile with no history of epilepsy, etc.
  2. Minimum age 16yrs. NPTC Assessment Schedule Criteria will be supplied.
  3. As training requires specific set up, it is preferred that training takes place at tutor’s workshop.

Course Objectives

  • Participants prepare for use, inspect and maintain top or rear handled chainsaws in workshop and field conditions. Includes starting procedures and pre-work checks.
  • Participants state the importance and functions of a fully trained & competent chainsaw operator.
  • Participants recognise and use approved techniques for safe and efficient cross-cutting operations. This course does not cover felling of trees (separate course)
  • Participants undertake and demonstrate knowledge of risk assessment methodology.

Duration & Award

  1. Normal course duration is up to 1 &½ days.
  2. Upon successful completion candidates will be assessed for City and Guilds Level 2/NPTC unit CS30.

Time Day 1: 8.30am - 5.00pm

Time Day 2: 8.30am - 1.00pm

 

Venue:

Safetech Training Facility, Drumkeen.

 

Directions From Letterkenny:

Go towards Drumkeen. Turn right opposite the old Letterkenny 4x4 Garage. Signposted from this point.

Each Participant Must Bring 2 X Passport Photos To The Course:
